"As imaginative, experimental, provocative, thought-expanding, and downright taboo-threatening as the legendary Dangerous Visions or the more recent Redshift."
---Michael M. Jones, Chronicle, June 2004

"Imaginings is a first-rate anthology ... an overall excellent selection."
---Rich Horton, Locus, October 2003

"Worth picking up. I especially enjoyed 'The Thalatta Thesis,' 'Great White Hope,' 'Insider,' and 'Walking Contradiction.' Novelettes are a wonderful length to read and I hope there will be an Imaginings 2. Keith DeCandido does a fine job of selecting 'the good stuff'."

Welcome to the home page for the anthology Imaginings, a collection of novelette-length tales of science fiction and fantasy, produced by Albé-Shiloh Inc. and on sale now from the good folks at Pocket Books.

Edited by respected editor and best-selling author Keith R.A. DeCandido, Imaginings features the best in long short fiction, including:

The objective of Imaginings is to create a home for stories of a length that is in many ways ideal for the genre, but also hard for most anthologies and magazines to accommodate. Some of the most important and influential stories in the field are novelette-length--"Slow Sculpture" by Theodore Sturgeon, "The Screwfly Solution" by Raccoona Sheldon, "The Bicentennial Man" by Isaac Asimov, "Sandkings" by George R.R. Martin, "Blood Music" by Greg Bear--but they're very difficult to place.

Imaginings is, like Patrick Nielsen Hayden's Starlight, a return to the anthology like Terry Carr's old Universe series--anthologies whose only "theme" is that they have the best stories the genre has to offer.
